Extra-Infos: Remastered 1969 Album W/ 5 Bonus Tracks
Description:Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1969 Progressive Rock masterpiece including five bonus tracks. Formed in 1968 by former Kingsmen keyboard player Don Gallucci, the band also featured Joey Newman, Bruce Hauser, Jeff Hawks and John Barnardo. Making their home in a Moorish style mansion in the Hollywood Hills, Touch created an album both experimental and ground breaking in style. Their debut album was recorded at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood and sessions saw admirers such as JImi Hendrix, Grace Slick and Mick Jagger visit the studio to offer encouragement and support to the band. Tracks such as the epic "Seventy Five" and "The Spiritual Death of Howard Greer" were hallmarks of the album's excellence. Esoteric.
Tracks 1-7 originally released on the 1969 Deram LP [r=2896416]. Track 8 was recorded during the album sessions and was a planned single release before being shelved by London Records. Track 9 recorded Autumn 1968. Track 10 was unused on the original LP due to time restraints imposed by vinyl and the desire to keep "Touch" as a single album.
"Touch" is the self-titled debut and only album by the American progressive rock band Touch, originally released in 1969. This CD reissue from Cherry Red Records brings back a cult classic that has been celebrated for its innovative blend of psychedelic rock, complex arrangements, and melodic songwriting. The album stands out as an early example of progressive music in America, featuring standout tracks like "Seventy Five," "Down at Circe's Place," and "Alesha and Others." Touch was formed by musicians with roots in garage rock but quickly evolved into pioneers of more experimental sounds. Although their time together was brief, Touch left a lasting legacy on the genre. Cherry Red Records is renowned for its dedication to preserving rare gems from music history, offering high-quality remasters and comprehensive liner notes that appeal to collectors and new listeners alike.
