Extra-Infos: Remastered
Description:Digitally re-mastered and expanded edition including two bonus tracks. In 1973, Barbra Streisand went into the studio to make this album, one of the first (and still considered one of the best) Classical crossover recordings. This unique collection of art songs and arias was originally released in February 1976, with it's striking cover portrait by Francesco Scavullo, and has never gone out of print. Classical Barbra rose to #46 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in 1976 and is certified gold in the U.S. Thirteen-time Grammy- winning producer Steven Epstein re-mastered the original recording for this reissue, the first since it's original CD release in 1987. Most importantly, it contains the first ever release of two additional tracks recorded during the original sessions but never available until now: two of Franz Schubert's best known songs, 'An Sylvia' and 'Auf dem Wasser zu singen.'
Copper-colored sticker states: "The New, Definitive Edition / Remastered For The First Time / Includes Two Previously Unreleased Bonus Tracks" Tracks 11 & 12: Previously unreleased Made in the EU.
"Classical Barbra (Re-Mastered)" on CD presents Barbra Streisand in an elegant, classically oriented repertoire that highlights the warmth, control and emotional nuance of her unmistakable voice. Rather than focusing on her well-known pop and Broadway catalog, this album explores art songs and classical-inspired pieces, interpreted with the same theatrical sensitivity and expressive phrasing that have made Streisand one of the most celebrated vocalists of the 20th and 21st century. The remastered edition offers a refreshed, more detailed sound image, with greater clarity in the orchestral arrangements and a more natural presence of Streisand's vocals, making this release particularly attractive for both long-time fans and new listeners interested in her more sophisticated, concert-hall side. Listeners can expect carefully crafted interpretations that balance technical precision with emotional depth, ideal for quiet evenings or focused listening.

As a musical artist, Barbra Streisand is internationally recognized for her exceptional career as a singer and actress. Over several decades she has shaped the worlds of popular music, film and stage with her powerful voice, strong personality and distinctive interpretive style. She is known for numerous successful studio albums and iconic performances in film musicals and dramas, and she ranks among the most decorated entertainers in modern history, with a rare combination of chart-topping records and major industry awards. Her ability to bridge popular and more classical material gives an album like "Classical Barbra (Re-Mastered)" a special significance in her discography, showcasing her versatility and her deep respect for composed, timeless music.

The CD is released by Sony Classical, a label that focuses on high-quality classical and classical-crossover recordings. Sony Classical is part of the global Sony music group and is known for collaborating with leading orchestras, renowned soloists and distinguished conductors, as well as with artists who move at the intersection of classical music, film music and sophisticated popular repertoire. The label stands for carefully produced recordings, detailed sound engineering and a catalog that spans both traditional masterpieces and innovative projects. With "Classical Barbra (Re-Mastered)", Sony Classical once again underlines its ambition to present important vocal works and crossover productions in audiophile quality and to keep significant catalog titles available in up-to-date sound.
