.. Year By Year 1965 |
 | Description: | London American Label Year By Year 1965 is a compilation of 28 rock & roll tracks released as CD on 30 Oct 2014. London American Label Year By Year 1965 includes a.o. the following tracks: â??Have Mercy Baby - James Brown & The Famous Flamesâ?, â??A Time To Love - A Time To Cry - Lou Johnsonâ?, â??You Baby - The Ronettesâ?, â??Georgie Porgie - Jewel Akensâ? and more. - .. YEAR BY YEAR 1965Our widely acclaimed series resumes this month with a look at 28 of the great records that came out on the UK's London American label during 1965. As only 73 records were issued in 1965 on the label, what's been chosen represents more than 1/3 of the label's complete output. The label's story is told via records largely digitally unavailable until now. Like the London label the CD offers a complete cross-section of what was going on in American popular music and shows that the dominance of UK groups and solo acts of the Hot 100 had not completely changed the American ideas about making records. Some of the best-remembered records of the era are heard here, by the Righteous Brothers, Shirley Ellis, James Brown, Burt Bacharach and the Castaways, along with some of the most obscure. Wherever possible we have used the tapes used to manufacture the original London 45s - all in glorious mono as you heard them on your transistor radio.1965 as documented by the releases of the UK's most famous source for US rock'n'roll, pop and R&B.
