"101 (Live)" is a CD release by Depeche Mode, issued by Sony Music, capturing the band in an energetic live setting. The album documents Depeche Mode at a key moment in their career, presenting a setlist that combines their darker, synth-driven songs with more anthemic, crowd-pleasing tracks. Across the performance, you can hear the band's characteristic blend of electronic beats, atmospheric arrangements, and emotionally charged vocals, supported by the audience's palpable enthusiasm. This live recording highlights how many of Depeche Mode's studio compositions gain added intensity and immediacy on stage, with extended passages, dynamic builds, and a powerful interaction between band and fans. The CD format offers clear, detailed sound, making it suitable both for focused listening on high-quality systems and for enjoying the concert atmosphere on the go. For collectors and long-time followers, "101 (Live)" serves as a snapshot of Depeche Mode's evolution as a live act; for new listeners, it works as a gateway into the band's catalogue, uniting some of their most recognizable material in one coherent live experience.

Depeche Mode are one of the most influential electronic and alternative bands to emerge from the 1980s, known for turning synthesizer-based music into a dark, emotional, and stadium-filling experience. Over the decades, they have released a series of highly successful albums and singles, building a global fanbase and becoming a reference point for genres ranging from synth-pop to industrial and modern alternative rock. Their live performances are renowned for their intensity, visual staging, and the way the audience becomes part of the show, often singing along to entire choruses. The group's ability to reinvent their sound while maintaining a distinct identity has secured them a lasting place in music history, with numerous chart entries, sold-out tours, and a strong influence on subsequent generations of artists.

Dmitry S. - 17/Apr/2025 5 of 5 Stars!
Historic concert album from Depeche Mode. Some overdubs, but sounds great and has that youthful energy that makes this concert a great listen. Great re-issue from Sony!
