Con su mezcla de folk oscuro, rock 'n' roll de aire retro y atmósferas de cine negro, el disco suena como la banda sonora de una película lenta y fascinante. Guitarras cargadas de reverb, ritmos hipnóticos y una voz de barítono muy cercana crean un clima de tensión y melancolía que arrastra poco a poco al oyente hacia el universo sombrío de Timber Timbre. Las canciones se desarrollan con calma y precisión, combinando arreglos desnudos con una calidez analógica muy marcada y sutiles toques electrónicos. Este CD está pensado para escuchas atentas, sobre todo de noche, cuando su carácter sugerente y casi onírico se disfruta al máximo. En las letras, « Hot Dreams » se mueve entre el deseo, la desilusión y una narrativa casi surrealista, manteniendo siempre un halo de misterio que invita a volver una y otra vez al álbum.
Como proyecto musical, Timber Timbre se ha dado a conocer por un sonido muy particular que fusiona folk, blues y pop de inspiración clásica con un fuerte sentido cinematográfico. A lo largo de sus trabajos, la banda ha construido una reputación sólida gracias a su escritura cargada de atmósfera y a una identidad sonora inconfundible. Su música aparece con frecuencia en bandas sonoras de cine y televisión, lo que confirma el poder evocador y visual de sus composiciones. Con « Hot Dreams », Timber Timbre afina aún más esta estética y entrega algunas de sus canciones más accesibles sin renunciar a la profundidad ni a la oscuridad que la caracterizan.
