English Alexander S. - 2020年 01月 15日 4 满分 5 颗星!
Wolves In The Throne Room is a band that feeds its music with ideas of the radical wing of the movement for the protection of the environment, biodynamic farming and even ecological feminism (which does not happen in the world!)! A solid legacy, not very labor-black, but strong just in its independence from ideological cliches and cliches. The figurative system is filled with pictures of night shadows, fire dancing, smells of a fire, the combined magic of the forest. Genre - atmospheric black, sharing bread with folk black and finally calming down as a "forest" metal. Ideas and moods - thoughtfulness when looking, embracing the whole space, all the vertical and horizontal. The most prosaic in Wolves music ... is, of course, extremely dynamic plots based on traditional atmospheric guitars and dense anarchistic blast beat with the addition of delicious melodic losses that quickly disappear in the abyss of chaotic atmosphere. The finale of these long-lasting games guarantees Olympic (damn!) Calm and a constructive look after military enthusiasm. Americans generally eagerly play on the pathetics of a frozen chord and an enchanted tremolo before firing a volley of all guns, or they often make percussion itself loud. The music of the American Wolves is primarily a claim to spirituality and a good finish of black metal, not disdain for this by any doom means. From doom metal there is good acoustics and some slowdowns. Yes, there’s airy female vocals, but it’s extremely small. What is clearly not from the thought here is raggedness: far from always we can feel the organicness of the plot moves, rather the opposite. So, the second part of “Face in a Night Time Mirror” completely shamelessly breaks into the ears, not wanting to push off from its predecessor, being its direct heiress. However, there, after some time, stringy chords sound pretty good - it is quite motivated. In general, from Wolves In The Throne Room at this stage I want more variety and less routine within the same composition. So, “Diadem of 12 Stars” is a very good album combining Nordic (say, Ulver) and more liberal (certainly, Agalloch) influences, atmospheric in the black sense exactly as much as geography and certain worldviews allow it.
