The record captures the band in one of their most creative phases, blending atmospheric new wave, melodic rock and poetic French pop. Across its tracks, "Le Baiser" moves between introspective ballads and more driving, guitar-driven songs, always carried by Nicola Sirkis' unmistakable voice and the band's flair for cinematic arrangements. The album's mood is both romantic and melancholic, with lyrics that explore love, distance, identity and the search for meaning, all wrapped in lush keyboards, spacious guitars and subtle electronic textures that remain timeless.
This CD edition focuses on audio clarity and sonic depth, making "Le Baiser" particularly appealing to listeners who want to (re)discover Indochine's classic sound as it evolved beyond their early 1980s roots. It fits seamlessly into any collection of French rock, new wave or sophisticated pop, and offers a coherent listening experience from start to finish rather than just a collection of singles. The sequencing of the tracks creates a narrative arc, starting with more immediate, accessible songs and gradually moving toward more atmospheric and reflective pieces, rewarding complete, focused listening.
Indochine are one of the most influential French rock bands, known for shaping the country's new wave and alternative scene from the 1980s onward. Over the decades they have built a loyal multi-generational fan base and have filled major arenas and stadiums in the Francophone world. Their work is characterized by memorable melodies, strong visual aesthetics and introspective lyrics, with "Le Baiser" marking an important chapter in their artistic evolution and confirming their ability to reinvent themselves while remaining instantly recognizable.
The CD is released by Indochine Records, a label dedicated to preserving and presenting the band's catalogue with high production standards. Indochine Records focuses on carefully curated editions, solid sound quality and packaging that respects the band's visual identity. With "Le Baiser," the label offers a definitive CD version that does justice to the album's emotional range and sonic richness, ensuring that both long-time fans and new listeners can experience this phase of Indochine's career in excellent audio quality. | | | Manufacturer No.: |
