"Human.:II:Nature." is an ambitious double LP by the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, released by the renowned metal label Nuclear Blast. Across its conceptually divided structure, the album explores the duality between humanity and nature: the first part focuses on powerful, song-based compositions, while the second part unfolds as a long, atmospheric, mostly orchestral piece. Expect Nightwish's signature blend of heavy guitar riffs, majestic orchestral arrangements, choral sections and the expressive, classically influenced voice at the front, resulting in an immersive, cinematic listening experience perfectly suited to the vinyl format.

Musically, "Human.:II:Nature." ranges from bombastic symphonic metal hymns with catchy hooks and complex arrangements to quieter, introspective passages that highlight the band's compositional depth. Lush strings, choirs and rich keyboard layers interweave with dynamic metal instrumentation, creating a broad emotional spectrum--from epic and triumphant to intimate and reflective. The production is expansive and detailed, making the LP edition especially attractive for listeners who want to experience the nuances of the arrangements and the wide sonic landscapes Nightwish are known for.

Nightwish are among the most successful and influential symphonic metal bands in the world. Formed in the 1990s in Finland, they helped define and popularize the genre far beyond the metal scene with their blend of metal, film-score-like orchestration and powerful vocals. Over the course of their career, they have released multiple internationally acclaimed albums and built a strong global fanbase, regularly touring large venues and festivals. Their work is noted for conceptual depth, high production values and a distinctive fusion of heavy and orchestral elements that has inspired countless other artists.

The LP is released by Nuclear Blast, one of the leading independent heavy music labels globally. Founded in Germany, Nuclear Blast has played a key role in the development and international spread of metal and its subgenres, working with numerous established and rising bands. The label is known for high production standards, elaborate physical editions and a strong dedication to the metal community. With "Human.:II:Nature.", Nuclear Blast once again underlines its reputation for supporting ambitious, artistically demanding releases within the heavy music realm.

Compared to their prior albums, Human II Nature musically in some ways resembles EFMB, but seems even more mellow overall though it does have its more upbeat moments, like in the second song Noise. Aside from the more vocal parts, it seems to chug along at a steady pace with a lot of orchestration throughout.

"Harvest" with its growling synth and primal tom toms and kick drum give way to a slight, mildly Celtic melody that just doesn't work due to Donockley's thin, reedy, vocal performance. Closer "Endlessness,"however, is one of the set's strongest cuts with bassist Marko Hietala offering commanding clean lead vocals. Nightwish back him with sweeping guitars, waves of cascading synths, buoyant strings, and flailing drums.
