Live At The Tower Theatre Philadelphia 1977 |
 | | Description: | Still Dangerous by Thin Lizzy, released 17 January 2012, includes the following tracks: "Cowboy Song", "Dancing In The Moonlight", "Opium Trail", "Baby Drives Me Crazy" and more.
This version of Still Dangerous comes as a 1xCD. - LIVE AT THE TOWER THEATRE PHILADELPHIA 1977Full title: Still Dangerous: Live at Tower Theatre Philadelphia 1977. 2009 live archive release from the Irish rockers led by the late, great Phil Lynott. Still Dangerous marks another stellar live release from Lizzy with this one recorded live from the legendary Tower Theatre in Philadelphia. While Lizzy's Live And Dangerous, released in 1978, remains one of the greatest live albums of all time, it's no secret that there were substantial studio overdubs thus tarnishing that 'live' feel. Still Dangerous has absolutely no enhancements and is raw and uncompromising to say the least. 'Soldier of Fortune' opens the proceedings, and while not firing out of the gates, it showcases Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham's trademark harmonies perfectly. Their hit 'The Boys Are Back in Town' was just about ready to break in the US back in 1977 and is appropriately aired in all it's glory here. The guitars swirl over Phil Lynott's throbbing bass lines while the crowd lifts up the chorus. Still Dangerous is the real deal that further solidifies Thin Lizzy as one of the greatest live bands ever. 10 tracks. 2009.? &© 2009 Thin Lizzy Productions Ltd.
Recorded Live October 20th 1977 at the Philadelphia Tower Theatre.
Jewel case with 8-page colour booklet.
"Still Dangerous" is a powerful live CD capturing Thin Lizzy at their peak, delivering raw, unfiltered hard rock with the twin-guitar sound that made the band legendary. Recorded in the late 1970s and mixed from original concert tapes, the album preserves the energy, grit and emotional intensity of the group on stage, with driving riffs, tight rhythm work and Phil Lynott's unmistakable voice in front. Classic songs are presented here in fiery, extended versions that highlight both the band's melodic sensibility and their punchy, streetwise attitude, making this CD an essential document for fans of classic rock and live recordings. The sound is dynamic yet authentic, retaining the atmosphere of a real concert without feeling overproduced, and the sequencing lets the performance build naturally from one highlight to the next. As a CD release, "Still Dangerous" offers durable sound quality, easy handling and a perfect format for collectors who want a focused, album-length snapshot of Thin Lizzy on stage.
Thin Lizzy, the artist behind "Still Dangerous", are one of the most influential hard rock bands to emerge from the 1970s. Fronted by bassist, singer and songwriter Phil Lynott and known for their pioneering dual-lead-guitar approach, they shaped the sound of generations of rock and metal bands. The group rose to international fame with hits like "The Boys Are Back in Town" and powerful albums that combined melodic songwriting with tough, guitar-driven arrangements. Their music blends hard rock, bluesy undertones and Irish storytelling flair, resulting in songs that are at once anthemic and emotionally resonant. Over the years, Thin Lizzy have earned a lasting reputation for their intense live shows, charismatic stage presence and high-calibre musicianship, all of which are clearly reflected in this live recording.
The manufacturer THIN LIZZY stands here as the entity behind the release of this CD, ensuring that the band's legacy is presented in a form that does justice to their historical importance. By issuing and curating albums like "Still Dangerous", THIN LIZZY contributes to preserving high-quality archival material, making sure that both long-time followers and new listeners can experience the band in an authentic, carefully prepared edition. The focus on faithful sound restoration and respectful presentation underscores the commitment to maintaining the integrity of these iconic performances for future generations. | | | No. of tracks: |
