Track durations not printed."City's Gonna Burn" is the explosive debut album by Laaz Rockit, released in CD format by Massacre Records. This classic thrash metal record first hit the scene in 1984 and quickly established Laaz Rockit as one of the pioneering bands of the Bay Area thrash movement. The album features aggressive riffs, high-energy vocals, and socially conscious lyrics that capture the raw spirit of early American thrash. Standout tracks like "City's Gonna Burn," "Caught in the Act," and "Take No Prisoners" showcase their signature blend of speed and melody. Laaz Rockit went on to release several acclaimed albums throughout their career, earning a loyal following worldwide for their relentless sound and dynamic live performances.
Massacre Records is a renowned German label specializing in heavy metal and hard rock genres since its founding in 1991. Known for supporting both legendary acts and emerging talent, Massacre has built a reputation for quality releases across Europe and beyond. | | | Manufacturer No.: |

Yuriy P. - 11/Aug/2018 California group "Laaz rockit" was formed in 1982. The founders of the project were vocalist Michael Koons and guitarist Aaron Gellum, and finally completed the composition of Phil Kettner (guitar), Willie Lange (bass) and Victor Agnello (drums). The first two years of his career the team spent on performances in California clubs and recording one demo, "Prelude to death". In 1984, "Laaz rockit" found a contract with an independent firm "Target records" and debuted on it with the album "City's gonna burn". Made in a style close to power, the record was low in production quality and in the States it was not very successful.

But it was noticed by the Germans and a little later re-released "City's gonna burn" for the European market. A similar story was repeated with the second disc, "No stranger to danger": disgusting sound, low sales in the US and European licensing. The difference was that this time "Laaz rockit" personally went overseas and in the spring of 1986 their concerts were pretty pleased with the local audience.
The situation was spoiled by drummer Agnello, shortly before "Dynamo open air" who announced his retirement (he did not like the tendency to thrash the sound). The concert had to be canceled, and "Laaz rockit" started looking for a new drummer. After suffering some time without a drummer, the musicians still persuaded Victor to return to his place. In the autumn of 1986, the band recorded the album "Know your enemy", on which they closely approached thrash metal. The contract with "Target" was already lost by that time, so the team had to spend some time searching for another "roof".
In the end, the team managed to attach its opus to "Enigma records", and by the end of 1987 "Know your enemy" was published. According to many critics, this release was recognized as the best in the discography "Laaz rockit". The group conducted a European-American tour in the company with "L.A. Guns" and "Exodus", and in 1988 still appeared on "Dynamo open air".
Despite the successful state of affairs, after the tour announced his desire to leave Willie Lange. True, he still took part in recording the fourth album, but after the sessions he left immediately. His place was taken by John Torres, whose bass guitar was played on the disc "Nothing '$ $ acred". By the way, two new recruits participated in the recording of this album - guitarist Ken Savich and drummer Dave Chavarri. "Enigma" then had already failed, so the record went to "Roadracer". Despite the fact that "Nothing '$ $ acred" was quite powerful and qualitative, the situation in the team remained tense.
After the departure of Torres and Savich, their seats were taken respectively by Scott Sergeant and Scott Dominguez. This configuration left behind only one live album, and that one was published only in Japan. In 1992, the sign "Laaz rockit" disappeared from the horizon, and four-fifths of the last convoy gathered for the next year under the name "Gack". After the release of one album, this project was disbanded
