This CD edition of "T. Rex" by T. Rex, released by Polydor, presents a powerful snapshot of one of the defining bands of early 1970s rock. Characterized by driving guitar riffs, memorable melodies and a distinctive blend of glam rock and classic rock 'n' roll, this album captures the raw energy and style that made T. Rex a cult favorite worldwide. The production focuses on a warm, analog sound that emphasizes both the groove and the charismatic vocal delivery that would later influence generations of rock and indie artists. Ideal for collectors and new listeners alike, this disc offers a cohesive listening experience that showcases the band's gift for concise, hook-laden songs with a timeless rock attitude.

T. Rex, led by singer and guitarist Marc Bolan, became one of the most influential British rock bands of the early 1970s. Known for their pioneering role in the glam rock movement, they achieved major success with hits such as "Get It On (Bang a Gong)" and "Telegram Sam" and shaped the sound and visual language of an entire era. Bolan's distinctive songwriting, which combined rock 'n' roll roots with a modern, electrified edge, made T. Rex an enduring reference point for later artists in rock, alternative and even pop. The band's legacy lies not only in their chart hits, but in their unmistakable style and the way they bridged underground credibility with mainstream appeal.

Polydor, as the manufacturer and record label behind this edition, stands for decades of experience in producing and distributing high-quality music recordings. As one of the traditional European labels, Polydor has worked with a wide range of renowned artists across rock, pop and many other genres, and is known for solid sound quality and reliable catalog curation. With releases that span several musical eras, Polydor has helped preserve influential albums and make them accessible to new audiences. This CD benefits from that expertise, offering a durable physical format for collectors who value both audio quality and the lasting value of a well-produced rock classic.

Whether you are discovering T. Rex for the first time or revisiting a key chapter in rock history, this Polydor CD edition offers a focused, authentic listening experience that highlights the band's importance and preserves their sound for future generations.

Eugene S. - 03/Oct/2024 5 of 5 Stars!
T. Rex is a 1970 album by Marc Bolan's band T. Rex, the first under that name and the fifth since their debut as Tyrannosaurus Rex in 1968. The album is today listed by the Official Charts Company's website as having eventually reached a chart peak of No. 7 and accumulated several runs on the charts totaling 25 weeks. I recommend.
